In 2009, the International Scientific Conference The Fundamentals of Our Spirituality was established on the initiative of the Niko Berdzenishvili Institute and the Research Center for Christian Culture at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. Since its inception, the conference proceedings have been published on a regular basis. Over time, international interest in the event grew significantly; consequently, since 2019, the conference has been co-organized in partnership with The Centre for Religious and Juridical-Canonical Study and Research of Three Monotheistic Religions of Constanta Ovidius University.

The published volumes of scientific papers feature multidisciplinary research focusing on the history of the Christian Church, religion and culture, ethnic and religious tolerance, intercultural dialogue, and other contemporary issues.
